Comprehensive Examination

Whenever you come to our clinic for your oral checkup, first of all, a comprehensive examination is done so that our dentist can know the actual problem and give you the best treatment. The following things are included in a comprehensive examination:

• X-rays:  Your teeth will first be X-rayed so that the dentist can determine whether the patient has decay, tumours, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine the condition of the tooth and root.
• Evaluation for gum disease:  Examine the gums and the bone surrounding the teeth to detect any indications of periodontal disease.
• Assessment of tooth decay:  Utilising specialised dental instruments, a thorough examination will be conducted to inspect all tooth surfaces for signs of decay.
• Evaluation of existing restorations:  Review the status of current fillings, crowns, and other dental restorations..

Cleaning

Dental cleaning is very important to maintain the oral health of your teeth and avoid dental issues. Which includes:

• Professional dental cleaning: This involves the dentist using different tools to remove plaque, tartar, and stains that can cause tooth decay and gum disease.
• Flossing:  Flossing is also done here so that the space between teeth and gums can be cleaned properly.

• Intraoral

  • Bite-wing radiographs:  These X-rays are captured to identify cavities (or holes) that may develop in the spaces between adjacent teeth, known as interproximal areas.
  • Periapical radiographs:  These are extensive X-rays focused on a particular tooth to pinpoint localised issues. They provide a complete view of the tooth, from the crown (top) to the area beyond the end of the root where the tooth is securely anchored in the jaw.

Restorations (White Filling)

White fillings are used to repair cavities and restore teeth to their natural form. It is more popular than metal filling. they offer:

• White fillings are made of composite resin or porcelain that matches the natural color and shape of the teeth.
• The white filling is very strong and durable.
• Helps in repairing broken teeth and cavities or weak teeth.

Two types of restorative materials are employed, depending on the size of the required restoration: composite resin or ceramic (porcelain). Both materials are carefully matched to the natural color of your teeth.

There are two primary dental restoration procedures:

• Direct Restorations:  For smaller restorations, a composite resin filling material is applied directly into the prepared tooth cavity.
• Indirect Restorations:  Larger restorations necessitate a custom-made ceramic (porcelain) tooth replacement filling. These are known as inlays and onlays.

  • Onlay:  A filling applied both inside and over the cusp (outer edge) of the tooth.
